Wisemonkey Client appears on The Secret Millionaire

Rob Lloyd, CEO of Eatonfield Group PLC & owner of Rob Lloyd Racing, a racehorse stables, based in Cheshire, appeared on Channel 4’s “The Secret Millionaire”. For nine days, Rob went undercover in Belfast, a city scarred from three decades of war.

Just weeks ago, Northern Ireland was rocked once more by sectarian shootings. Rob's home for nine days was in the protestant Shankill Road, the site of one of the Troubles' most notorious atrocities. Rob told people that he was new to the area and wanted to get involved in youth projects. Surviving on the equivalent of jobseekers allowance, he got to know the local community.

After spending time at a local boxing club for youngsters in the Protestant area of Shankill, Rob was inspired to find out what else was on offer for the young population in the area and discovered a project in the Catholic Ardoyne called Flax Foyer. Run by Marie Fusco, the project provides flats for disadvantaged young people from both sides of the divide and without it many of them, such as 20-year-old resident Lucy, would be on the streets.

As Rob got to know Marie and Lucy, he began to understand the personal cost of the Troubles, and working with the young people of Belfast forced Rob to rethink his own life.
